NTI Global Timeline

Since the Company's founding in 1983 Nationwide Tarps, Inc; d.b.a, NTI Global, has become known for its diverse product lines and manufacturing efficiencies. NTI Global has grown from a small industrial sewing shop to a 250,000sq ft facility with divisions encompassing plastic extrusion, material welding, fabric tolling, and more. Working with customers to meet and exceed the changing demands of domestic and world markets, NTI Global continues to provide innovative, high quality products.

1983

Nationwide Tarps Incorporated opens at 842 Albany Street, Albany NY. The company first began manufacturing bow tarps, bags, awnings and greenhouse sidewalls. Between its two locations of property owned Nationwide Tarps located at 301 Craig St. was where manufacturing operations took place and 842 Albany St. was where the Tarp Retail Location, that employed 7 people, was established.

December 1985

Nationwide Tarps moves into the Hamilton Hill neighborhood. The owners provided jobs for area residents.

1989 - 1990

Schenectady's Nationwide Tarps Aims to Cover Overseas Market. The company employed 20 people manufacturing tarps, tent sidewalls, pool covers, awnings, dog agility products, concrete curing blankets and other coverings.

Nationwide Tarps selected as one of the companies to represent the Upstate NY region, in New York State's Export Marketing Program to Europe. (Memo from: Hugh T. Farley, Senator)

Becomes a member of the Schenectady Country Chamber of Commerce.

Kentucky Plant (1994)

In 1994 the second manufacturing facility was opened in Kentucky. The company continued to mirror the manufacturing of materials in Kentucky with the addition of manufacturing for the mining market, brattice cloth products to be specific.

Utah Plant (1996)

In 1996 the third manufacturing facility was opened in Utah. With the opening of a third facility Nationwide Tarps continued manufacturing in the same style as the other two facilities with one of its first main projects being the Winter Olympics. NTI was contracted to help build the infrastructure for the events.

Amsterdam Plant (2002) at 50 Willow Street in Amsterdam, NY

By 2002, NTI Global combined all manufacturing back into one main facility in Amsterdam, New York. It is during this time that NTI Global continued manufacturing its 7 divisions and began to grow into the markets of packaging bubble and solar covers.
